Maduka University completes inaugural session

MADUKA University has completed its inaugural academic session which culminated in a thanksgiving and get-together with students and staff.

The university, located in Enugu State, in a statement seen by Nigerian Tribune, stated that the completion of the maiden session underscores the university’s commitment to providing quality education and shaping the future of higher learning in Nigeria.

During its first session, the university offered academic programmes in engineering, business, social sciences, and the humanities.

“The university’s faculty, comprising renowned scholars and experts in their respective fields, delivered rigorous and engaging instruction, providing students with a strong foundation for success in their chosen careers,” the statement read.

The statement further reads that the university is committed to its core values of excellence, integrity, and service, as it positions itself to shape the future of higher education in the country for generations to come.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Charles Ogbulogo, said that the completion of their maiden session is a significant achievement for the university.

Professor Ogbulogo noted that they will build on the successes of the inaugural session and continue to enhance their programmes, facilities, and services to meet the evolving needs of their students and the broader community.

“I am excited about the hard work and dedication demonstrated by our entire community as we worked together to establish a foundation for academic excellence and innovation,” he said.

Professor Ogbulogo emphasised that the university prioritises student engagement, holistic development, academic excellence and innovation in Nigeria and beyond, as they prepare to welcome new students for the second session.

Part of the events also marked the inauguration and swearing-in of the 16-member Students’ Consultative Forum (SCF).

The thanksgiving and get-together events included sports tournaments, cultural activities, beauty pageants, and campus crusades.

At the end of the beauty pageant, Deborah Chizaram Okpara was crowned Miss Maduka, while Godswill M. Nnamchi emerged Mr Maduka.

Other category winners are Jessica Ezinne Ugwu, Face of Maduka; Nmesoma Geraldine Ogamba, Miss Tourism; Bernard Chidera Chiemeka, Mr Tourism; Jessica Chinaza Emeribe, Miss Virtuous Lady; and David Pwanovi Gift, winner of the spoken-word contest.
