Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State announced on Monday that Local Government Councils election would hold in the next ninety days.
Fintiri made this known when he granted audience to the state leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN on a courtesy call at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Yola.
Governor Umaru Fintiri explained that the election would enable the electorates at the local government areas to elect leaders of their choice who would man the affairs of the councils so as to entrench dividends of democracy at the grassroots level.
Fintiri has also expressed concern on the ban on importation and use of NPK and Urea fertilizer in Adamawa among other states in the Northeast by the Federal Government, which was done for security reasons.
According to the ban has frustrated the plan to supply the commodity to farmers in the state by the state government. He urged farmers to be patient with the directive as his administration would look for other alternatives that could be used.
