Lobbyists for commissioners will be disappointed ― Gov. Lalong

Published by

Apparently disturbed by intense lobbying among All Progressive Congress stalwarts in Plateau State for political appointments,  Governor Simon Lalong has declared that the list of his Commissioners is ready and warned that henceforth no one should disturb him for political appointments.

The governor who stated this on Monday during the swearing of Secretary to the State Government Professor Danladi Atu and Chief of Staff Mr. Noel Dongjul said nobody should lobby him for appointment adding that those doing that or contacting others to lobby for them are wasting their time and will be disappointed.”Nobody should come to me for appointments, the list of my commissioners had been compiled and ready for long. Those who worked during the first term were nominated by people but this time I am doing the appointments. My administration will ensure that whatever that was missing during the first term is restore this time around” he said.

Governor Lalong said the next four years will be devoted to consolidating on the gains made in the first term and expand on critical areas of development for the benefit of the people adding that this can only be possible when the machinery of government works smoothly, harmoniously and systematically to ensure that all policies of the administration are religiously implemented and in record of time.

He tasked the Secretary to the State Government and Chief of staff to give proper direction, guidance and motivation to all the ministries and agencies of government for effective performance without undue rancour and distraction.

” Remember your appointment is not a license to self-aggrandizement, not self-enrichment or any personal gain for that matter. It is about service to our people and ensuring that this administration delivers on its mandate and leaving lasting legacies for our beloved state”

Governor Lalong warned that the administration will not tolerate anyone who undermines Government efforts or flagrantly disregard directive adding that poor performance, dereliction of duty, nonchalance or outright sabotage will not be accepted.

The Governor, therefore, reaffirmed his commitment to delivering good governance to the people of Plateau State in line with his campaign promises
