Live music will stand the test of time —Shuga

The President Of Association Of Music Band Owners Of Nigeria (AMBON), Akinloye Tofowomo popularly known as Akiin Shuga has said that the business of live music will stand the test of time.

Akin explained that it will keep changing but music will not.

He made this known at the swearing-in ceremony of the new executives of the Association recently held in Lagos.

“I think the business of live music will keep changing, but music won’t. Music will be there, of course, there will be modifications and a never ending blaze of trends.

“There will always be space in the space. I dream of the day Band owners will have their rightful place in the event industry of our nation.

“The most devastating thing artists can do to their career is get in their own way and way too many people do.

“It is not the industry, the fans, the cities, the economy, the social media the Marketing, The promoting, the right time, the music or whatever other excuse you can come up with that determines whether you succeed or you fail,” he said.

Meanwhile, Shuga urged the leadership of the association to discharge their duties dutifully.

“The responsibility we are accepting is exciting. We are called to be the leaders of this dynamic and growing association which, with others around the country.

“This will make crucial difference in the live music business delivery to an increasing circle of people our community, national and international entertainment arenas,” he said.
