Listen to God, not politicians, Adeonigbagbe tells Nigerians

Nigerians have been advised to shun politicians whose many promises are not likely to be fulfilled, but are bent on deceiving the people.

This advice was given by the founder and Spiritual Head of Celica Church of Christ Worldwide, Reverend (Dr) Emmanuel Adeonigbagbe, during an interactive session with newsmen, at the headquarters of the church, at Kilometre 7, New Ife road, Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to Adeonigbagbe, most Nigerians tend to believe in politicians thinking that God should be relegated to the background, saying this is why politicians believe that Nigerians are to be used and dumped.

He pointed out that the only one who cannot deceive Nigerians is God, who he said loves the whole world regardless of one’s nationality or place. He, however, said most Nigerians are astray and crawling at the straw, but that until they move back to God, it may be difficult to get back to the right channel.

Adeonigbagbe said those in authority were promoting injustice, cruelty, bloodshed, nepotism, and insecurity in the land and that the Lord said he would bring his wrath upon them unless they retrace their steps.

“These leaders are polluting the land with innocent blood being shed daily and the land is spiritually stained. These leaders in the political, judicial, economic, traditional, and religious set-up have failed the citizenry and the country. They have abandoned the truth and Godliness and placed more emphasis on falsehood and the accumulation of wealth for their selfish ambitions.

“Crisis is looming in Nigeria. A spiritual revolution is coming also from the Lord! The sword of the Lord has been raised to cut down the evil doers who pollute the land with blood and injustice,” he said.

“The Lord said he has sent out his word to faithful spiritual and religious leaders to speak out against the ills of the society. They should speak truth to power and remind them there is a supreme being watching over the affairs of men.  Thus says the Lord, make it your aim to do what is right not what is evil, so that my wrath will not fall on you.

“For those who believe in politicians, it is better to follow God because that is the only way one can be saved and avoid disappointments from human beings particularly, politicians who only think about themselves,” Adeonigbagbe stated.
