Dear Yemisi,
Please, I need your advice concerning a girl who I am dating and I intend to marry after her studies. She has values you can think of, but she lies a lot because of money.
She said I have not given her anything since she has known me, and to the best of my knowledge, I bought her a 14-inch television that she took to school.
Though we are at present in good terms and I love her.
Please, what can I do?
Raf, 0*02***2***.
Dear Raf,
There is nothing bad in falling in love with a lady you want to live the rest of your life with who, to me, has demonstrated over time that she deserves to be your life mate.
No human being is perfect but God. You should appreciate the fact that you have been able to discover what her weakness is. There is no man or woman who loves money that will not lie. Craving to have money is the reason for developing oneself either through education or vocation, but when one behaves as one who needs money than others, then there is a problem.
How many times have you brought to her notice your observation on her too much love for money and the extent she can go to get it?
Concerning your allegation that she lies a lot is a serious problem that must be nipped in the bud because the moment you begin to suspect each other, the trust will no longer be there. Naturally you begin to imagine what she could be up to satisfy her quest for money which will eventually begin to erode the confidence you have in her.
If you cannot continue to bear with her after you might have pointed this out and she refuses to change her ways, kindly forget that your alleged love for each other. It is not safe to build a structure on nothing.
But before you eventually call it quits with her, you must let her know why you want to take a walk.
