Let economic policies have human face, CCC leader urges Buhari

The Head of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC)in Kwara South district of Kwara State, Dr Funmi Babalola, has called on the Federal Government to be humane in its economic policies aimed at getting Nigerians out of present economic recession.

Speaking with the TribuneChurch during the 2016 adult harvest of the church in Oro, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, tagged “Harvest of New Glory,” Dr Babalola, who is also one of the leaders of the Organisation of Africa Indigenous Churches (OAIC) in the state, said whatever policy the present administration was putting in place should involve humanitarian policy.

“The government policy on this biting economic recession should be done with human face. The president should not be unmindful of feelings of the poor masses. It is good to revamp the nation’s economy, but if people are hungry, the government may not achieve much. Optimal performance of Nigerians will be achieved when people are  well fed.

“Government should work to achieve food security as against the scarcity we have now. Food security is important because there should be food on table of Nigerians,” he said.

The cleric, who prayed for God’s blessings and favours upon Nigerians, also cautioned that people should allow the spirit of God to guide them aright for them to witness prosperity.

“We should hold onto Christ. Every believer should be steadfast with the creator. No one will bail us out except God. If we expect miracles or solutions from our president or his economic team, it is like deceiving ourselves. We should call on God for a return to abundance.

“President Buhari should go back to God. When one sees that a planned action is not working, the right thing is to turn back to God. If God is involved, things won’t be like this,” he said.

Speaking on the harvest, Babalola said the occasion was to get people prepared for last day.
