A prominent real estate practitioner, Messrs Lekki Garden Estate Limited, has unfolded what it described as strategic business drive to reposition the company in the pursuit of bridging housing deficit in Nigeria.
To achieve this, the company has concluded the strengthening of its technical team to ensure timely delivery of quality and affordable products.
Speaking at a press briefing held in Lagos, the Managing Director, Lekki Gardens Estate Limited, Mr Richard Nyong, noted that to meet the yearning of would-be house owners, the firm had successfully undergone its process of re-strategising.
According to him, Lekki Garden had spent considerable length of time to do the overhauling of it’s businesses, by bringing in different experts that are capable of meeting the needs and vision of the company.
“Presently, we have over 50 different type of projects, with 75 per cent located in Lagos, with others in Abuja, Port Harcourt and Ogun State. But it is mandatory to put on ground necessary technical and management competences that could drive our vision,” Nyong said.
“Apart from these, we have put in place a mortgage facility that we are proud to say is the first of its kind in the industry, which is 9.9 per cent interest rate. As I’m speaking, 17 people have already accessed the facility and this is part of the new initiative that we are bringing to the door step of our customers”, Nyong said.
While assuring the clients and stakeholders of the company that their investment is safe and appreciating in value, in spite of the current economic downturn, Nyong noted that the company remains viable and liquid without any form of indebtedness to any bank.
“It should be noted that the accounts of the company have been audited and certified satisfactory by Ernst and Young, a global auditing firm.”
Nyong also used the parley to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Jibunor as the new Chief Technical Officer for Lekki Gardens Estate Limited.
Highlighting the details of repositioning drive carried out by the firm, Jibunor stated that the company has put in place some policies that quality management, planning and coordination, include Health, Environment and Safety, ‘all in the pursuit of the global best practices’.
According to Jibunor, Lekki Gardens has raised the bar in terms of the requirements for consultants and contractors in qualifying to work with the company and by so doing, the company is now in position to work with the best hands in the industry.
“In ensuring a technically sound building and construction, the technical team has carried out a condition survey of sites, buildings and structures to ensure the quality of work in terms of existing design information appraisal, visual appraisals and inspections as well as other relevant appraisals such as soil test, pile loads, perimeter survey and so on”, Jibunor said.
He added that the new technical team has integrated the use of information technology in their systems with the introduction of the builders’ trend to provide a ‘bird’s eye-view’ of all their projects on one mobile platform for all stakeholders.
“The builders’ trend communica(ion platform equips all the company’s stakeholders, marketers and subscribers with an easier mode of tracking and follow-ups as updates on all ongoing projects”.
Jibunor listed the achievements of the technical teams to include a new health, safety and environment regime which is mandatory for all Lekki Gardens facilities, workers, contractors and visitors to comply with.
He added other achievements to include personal protective equipment (PPE), sign ages, training and deployment osf safety representatives/officers across all sites as well as safety induction for all visitors.
