THE Apostolic Church, Nigeria has urged leaders of government to seek God’s wisdom to address the nation’s challenges, especially the current agitation by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
Superintendent, Ibadan Area of The Apostolic Church, Nigeria, Pastor Joshua Ibidapo, who made this call while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, said the nation’s leaders were expected to seek God’s will and abide by His teachings, to deliver good governance.
He added that the agitations by the IPOB, kidnapping, armed robbery, fornication, among other social vices were not unconnected with the failure of leaders and the led in the country to stand for the truth.
Ibidapo further emphasised the need for the leaders to strive for the attainment of peace in the country.
“Our nation, Nigeria, is full of all manners of social vices and evil such as adultery, fornication, murder, kidnapping and armed robbery. As regards the recent agitation by IPOB, our leaders must seek the wisdom of the Lord, not their wisdom, which is inadequate.
“God has appointed leaders to do His will. IPOB is not the way of God for Nigeria. If people listen to the teaching of Christ, such agitation won’t happen. We must keep praying for a change of heart and that God should release the nation from bondage. Only God can allow peace in Nigeria so, our present leaders should accept and follow God,” Ibidapo said.
Also speaking, Superintendent, Odo Ona/Apata Area, Pastor John Gideon, emphasised the need for Nigerians to stand for the truth and not give in to Satanic elements.
In his comments, Superintendent of Ode Aje Area, Pastor Omovie Michael, added that the over 20,000 congregation expected at the crusade would pray for Nigeria and Nigerians to be delivered from all manners of oppression and for leaders to have the wisdom to direct the country aright.
