LCDA chairman promises to return all out-of-school children to classrooms

Published by
The caretaker chairman of Ogbomoso central LCDA, Mr Oluwaseun Adeyinka, has advised parents and guardians in the area to tap into the giant strides of the Oyo State governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, on education and ensure that all out-of-school children return to schools, noting that education is a vehicle of development.
The LCDA chairman told Tribune Online the impact of education as a pillar in the governor’s agenda tagged “Roadmap for Accelerated Development in Oyo state” with emphasis that he would complement the efforts of Mr Seyi Makinde, starting from returning all out-of-school-children to classrooms. He added that education could get rid of poverty.
He stated that the governor has unburdened the parents and guardians by abolishing the school fees of public primary and secondary schools, saying, “Given the significant contribution of the governor who has graciously increased the budget on education, we, the council chairmen, have been tasked to go to all our communities to make sure that all children go to school. Continuing, he said, “We have made up our mind in our council to ensure that no child will be seen around loitering during the school hours.
Adeyinka explained that the public would be sensitised on the importance of education with the addition that the council’s department of education, Local Inspector of Education, together with other education bodies of primary and secondary schools in the zone, would be involved.
Quoting him: “Our department of education will be saddled with the responsibility of enforcing ‘Operation-children-must-be-in-school’. Besides, our governor and leader of the state have made education to be free; textbooks have been distributed to pupils and students; afternoon lessons have also been put in place, among other notable strides in education. There are other ways in which our council will also complement the gestures of the governor. These areas include, but not limited to, uniforms, school bags.
