The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, has lauded the Chairman of Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga for what it described as “his uncommon entrepreneurial spirit and giant strides in the telecommunication industry which has made the Globacom brand a household name in the country.”
LCCI gave the commendation through its President, Chief (Mrs) Adenike Akande in her opening address at the Globacom Special Day which was a feature of the on going 30th Lagos International Trade Fair at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Friday. According to her, it was instructive that “latest figures from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) confirmed Globacom as the leader in new lines subscription for amassing 5 million new subscribers between June 2015 and June 2016. This represents a growth of 68 per cent of all new subscriptions”.
She further disclosed that she was fulfilled that the Lagos TradeFair which had been consistently organised in the last 29 years had grown significantly to such an enviable height that it is now regarded as the biggest and best in West Africa.
Head, Corporate Sales, Kamaldeen Shonibare said that Globacom was participating in the Fair as a result of its firm belief in Nigeria as an economic entity.
He described the theme of the Fair “Positioning the Nigerian Economy for Diversification and Sustainable Growth” as timely and complementary of the efforts of the Federal government to enhance the economy.
While saying that the best strategy to reverse the current economic recession was patronage of home-made goods and services by all and sundry, Shonibare added that Globacom was committed to availing the populace the best and most cost-effective products and services.
