Abidoye, who claimed he will institute litigation against the examination body as a parent, and on behalf of many other candidates of JAMB, whose results were not sent to their institutions, accused JAMB of alleged negligence.
While speaking to the Nigerian Tribune, in Osogbo, Abidoye, who maintained that JAMB admitted not uploading the result of his son in error, lamented that Abidoye Alfred Ajibade, his child, scored 237 and intend studying Law in Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU).
According to him, “to our surprise, JAMB has refused to upload result of my son. I later discovered several other candidates’ results are being held by JAMB for no reason. Registration for post UTME of OAU closes in another 24 hours and yet the result has not been uploaded to OAU website by JAMB.”
My son is depressed. In the course of struggling to get to the root of the matter, my wife, Mrs Abidoye went to JAMB office in Abuja to find out. Head of ICT of the exam body, Mr. Okoro was not on seat. The next officer to him, Mrs Usman was not on seat. One Mr Adewale who spoke to us, owned up to the error. He said it was a mistake on their part that the result was not uploaded”.
To our dismay, he said nothing may be done on the issue until Thursday (Today) when registration for post UTME for those that chose OAU would have ended.
“I also met the state officer of JAMB, one Mrs Alade. She initially claimed they have uploaded result of all OAU candidates. She later recanted. Alot of candidates that i met there could not just bear the trauma. You know they are kids. Many of them were crying and yet, no solution in sight. I am taking JAMB to court to demand a sum of N1billion onbehalf of all those that have suffered negative consequence of JAMB’s negligence,” Abioye remarked.
All efforts to reach officer in-charge of Osun JAMB office, proved futile as several calls to her mobile line did not go through.
