Lawmaker hails Tinubu’s move to revive Ajaokuta Steel, Itakpe Iron Ore mining

The member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the green chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Sanni Abdulraheem, has praised President Bola Tinubu for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the rehabilitation of Ajaokuta Steel Company and National Iron Ore Mining Company Itakpe.

The member also commended the Minister of Steel Development, Shaibu Audu, and noted that the effective and commercial operation of the Ajaokuta steel company will signal the industrial revolution of Nigeria.

He mentioned that when Ajaokuta is fully operational, the multiplying effect will lead to foreign exchange earnings, generation of employment, and provision of manpower needs of Nigeria through technology transfer, among other benefits.

According to Hon. Abdulraheem, “These benefits are not limited to employment creation, steel, rod supply and other investment opportunities alone but also to the growth and development of the nation.

He stressed that as a lawmaker from the area, he will continue rally the support of his colleagues to make legislation that will fastract the completion and operation of the two companies, Ajaokuta steel and Itakpe iron ore mining company.

He called on the people of Kogi state, particularly the people of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, to continue to support the initiative of the administration of president Ahmed Tinubu and the state Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to ensure early completion of the companies.
