The lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Olayiwola Sobur, had put smiles on the faces of the widows, indigent students and party loyalists in the Mushin community.
Sobur, who is the Chairman House Committee on Community and Local Government Affairs, also empowered the victims of Amu-inferno in order to relive and bring them back to their businesses.
Speaking at the empowerment programme ceremony held recently in Lagos, Hon. Olayiwola noted that it is a 5-in-one programme which is to make sure the impact of representativeness is being felt by the community members who have etched our time to vote during elections.
He revealed that the programme had been in existence since 2002 and has a far-reaching effect on the members of the community ever since the inception of the programme.

“It is a five-in-one programme. We have admitted over 120 indigent members of my constituency for my annual free computer training programme.
“This programme has been in existence since June 2002. It is a programme designed to assist my constituents to leverage on the intricacies of Computer literacy.
“And we are happy that from over 16 to 18 years now, people have been enjoying it.
“Secondly, we have identified members of my constituency who are widows and the elderly that we should be providing assistance to.
“We started with N5,000. So, every month by the special grace of God, we will be giving them N5,000 each.
“The widows are hundred in numbers. We have ten wards. So, we employed the services of the party chairman that is the local government party chairman as well as party ward chairmen
“Thirdly, We also needed to identify with our members who were victims of the Amu Inferno in our constituency.
“We provided some form of financial assistance to them in order to douse their fears of starting up the business again.
“There is is a particular student we are interested in his educational pursuit, advancement.
“Since we got jamb form for him and he scored very well, he is going to study civil engineering at the University Of Ibadan.
“Lastly, we also met with party loyalists who have been with us especially for one year and we tried to put smiles of their faces due to their consistency and perseverance during the election period,” the Lawmaker said.
While speaking on the rationale behind the empowerment, Olayiwola said: “As a Muslim, I believe that I should identify with the poor. I am doing this, as a politician, because I believe I should give back to my constituents.
“I am doing this because the slogan of my party is welfarism and we believe we should really assist our people,” Olayiwola said
