OYO State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has declared that Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, would be re-opened before the end of January.
Senator Ajimobi made this known while addressing the protesting students in front of the State secretariat on Monday morning.
The students, under the auspices of Save Education and Reopen LAUTECH Coalition (SERAL-C) had earlier addressed newsmen at the Correspondents Chapel, Mokola, Ibadan, Oyo State, calling on the state government for immediate re-opening of their institution.
Ajimobi said, “I have given instruction that come rain, come sunshine, the school must resume before the end of January. I have called my counterpart in Osun, and we have agreed to contribute a minimum of N250million each.
“We have invited the management of the institution and the various unions to a meeting on Wednesday, January 11 here. We hope the meeting will help a lot in fast tracking the resumption.”
