LAUTECH doctors protest payment of half salary

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital (LTH) branch of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), on Friday, staged a peaceful protest against the decision of Oyo State government to pay 50 per cent salary in January, February and March 2016 to only LAUTECH Teaching Hospital staff while other doctors and health workers in the state get their full salaries.

Its President, Dr Sebastine Oiwoh, told newsmen in Ogbomoso that the decision of the state government would force the hospital management to pay remaining 50 per cent of the salary from Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

According to him, “The implication of the decision is inconsiderate hike in cost of health service delivery which would make health care unaffordable, not accessible and therefore unacceptable to the citizens.
