LAUTECH denies workers’ strike, inducts 38 new medical laboratory scientists

Bothered by the rumour concerning workers’ strike in the instution, the management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has explained that academic activities were in full throttle, culminating in examinations going on in both Ogbomoso and Osogbo premises of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Michael Olufisayo Ologunde told visiting Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Mr Tosan Erahbor, that the university will continue to deliver its mandate as a leading Institution of Technology that is poised to charting the way forward for the country.

He explained that staff members of the institution may be demanding payment of their outstanding salaries, “they are, however, not unmindful of the need for us to ensure that academic calendar was not disrupted, so that our students can begin to complete studies as at when due.

Earlier in his address, Erhabor, who was in LAUTECH to induct 38 newly-qualified medical laboratory scientists into the profession, said the university jointly owned by Oyo and Osun states, have shown itself as a first grade training ground for professionals in that area of  human endeavor.

He added that the Council was ready to support LAUTECH to attain greater heights in its pursuit of excellence in the training of resources towards achievement of improved health for all.
