The Police, FCT Command, has arrested Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi, after the brother of the deceased reported the case.

DSP Josephine Adeh, Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, confirmed the arrest of the later singer’s husband.

The Police spokesman said: “He is now in our custody. The younger brother of the deceased reported the matter and we have commenced investigation.”

Osinachi, 42, was reported to have died after days on life support. The circumstances leading to her death have been the subject of controversy from being a victim of domestic violence from her husband to reports of dying from throat cancer.

However, allegations are rife that Osinachi was a victim of constant beatings by the husband, adding that the Dunamis International Church singer died after being kicked in the chest.

Police sources disclosed that operatives from the Lugbe Division, on Sunday, arrested Mr Nwachukwu and that investigation had commenced into the singer’s death.

The police confirmed the arrest of Mr Nwachukwu in a case of suspected homicide after the brother of the deceased reported the case to the police.
