Speaking with newsmen at the press centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, Audu said he was in the race to create a new frontier of positive achievements and progress for the Igala/Bass a nation.
He said his ambition was based on the need to institute a new concept of representation in governance, accountability, a new agenda of sustainable development to restore the hope of the people of Kogi east.
According to him, it was sad and regrettable that the senatorial district had lacked quality representation since the return to democracy in 1999.

Audu, who is aspiring on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), also argued by that Idah federal constituency where he hailed from was the only out of the three federal constituencies in Kogi east that had not occupied the seat, urging the stakeholders to allow the federal constituency occupy the seat.
He said he had designed some programmes that would impact positively on the lives of the people of the nine local government areas that made up the senatorial district.
The younger Audu, who said he silently worked with his late brother to develop the state, said efforts would be made to enable the people make more money from agriculture, which is their mainstay.
He said farm produces from the area which include yam, cashew, palm would be explored maximally to boost the economy of the area and the entire state.
He said, “We are yet to derive any benefit from the coal deposit in Okaba despite its high quality, large commercial deposit and high potential. We must understand that we are in an era of practical solution, for us to develop the Igala/Bass a nation, we must renew our efforts at industrialisation beginning from small and medium scale enterprises”.
