He said any staff with a proven case of sexual harassment on whatever pretence against any female student of the university would be dismissed from service.
The registrar stated this during an interaction with newsmen in his office, saying the university management was particularly frowning not only at sexual assault but also at other serious criminal activities such as cultism and exam malpractice and therefore would not hesitate to sanction, in accordance with the law. whoever that is established to be indulged in any of them.
He, however, pointed out that LASU encourages whistleblowing policy and protects whistleblowers’ identities, and at the same time, ensure that every stakeholder in the university community including the students is protected under the rules and regulations guiding their conducts.
According to him, LASU can only respect members of staff and students who conduct themselves according to the dictate of the law and not those who contravene the law.
Speaking about his plans for the university as a new registrar and secretary to the council, Amuni said, while he would consolidate on his predecessor’s achievements and improved on areas where necessary, he would also inject new ideas that would further move the university forward.

He said part of his plans were to drive the university with information and communication technology, sharpen workers’ skills through regular training and retraining, improve on the facilities and staff welfare, meet stakeholders’ requests (needs) within 48 hours deadline, prompt collection of certificates by graduands, partner the alumni associations, corporate bodies and spirited individuals for possible aids for development purposes and delivery of service in accordance with the world best practices, among others.
The 47-year-old trained lawyer noted that the registry would also serve as a barometer between the management and various staff unions and students, and believed that all these plans were achievable with the support and cooperation of staff and students.
