AFTER spurning the commission’s invitation for two consecutive days, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia finally showed up at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office in Lagos, on Thursday.
A source in commission informed the Nigerian Tribune that Ofili-Ajumogobia, a judge at the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court, turned herself in at the office at about 6.00 p.m.
She was, alongside some judges, invited by EFCC to answer questions relating to involvement in corrupt practices.
Ofili-Ajumogobia and Justice Musa Haruna Kurya were expected at the commission’s office at Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Tuesday, but she failed to show up as expected.
Again, she did not show up on Wednesday when Justices Agbadu James Fishim and Uwani Abba Aji reported at the commission’s office on Wednesday.
As of the time of filing this report, it was not certain if she would be allowed to go home on administrative bail on not.
Ofili-Ajumogobia had, in March, earned the wrath of the National Judicial Council (NJC) which meted out some disciplinary measures on her.
These included preventing her from being promoted to the Court of Appeal or any ad hoc judicial appointment until her retirement from the profession.
