Last decades’ transformation enabled India to be example, contributor — Minister

Minister of External Affairs in India, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishanker has stated that the country’s transformation over the last decades has enabled it to be an example, contributor and a partner.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday said this while addressing the Nigerian Institute Of International Affairs (NIIA) in Lagos on India and the Global South.

He described Global South as a mindset, a solidarity and a self-reliance.

According to him,The global agenda today is on promoting rebalancing and multipolarity, thereby restoring the world to its natural diversity.

This was just as he stated that Contemporary challenges emanate from old forms of domination as well as new economic cconcentration.

“The transformation over the last decade has enabled India to be an example, a partner and a contributor.

“Global South is about a mindset, a solidarity and a sself-reliance.

“The global agenda today is on promoting rebalancing and multipolarity, thereby restoring the world to its natural diversity.

“Contemporary challenges emanate from old forms of domination as well as new economic cconcentration.” He said.

Speaking also, Former Minister of External Affairs, Professor Bolaji Akinyemi said he is always fascinated whenever he reads about profound role India is playing in international and global affairs.

Professor Bolaji said he shares in the achievements of india, with its own vision and focus in what it should be doing but not as a competition.

In attendance were The Director-General of NIIA, Professor Eghosa Osaghae; Professor of Economics, Professor Pat Utomi and so many others.
