LAGOS, Nigeria is the third worst city to drive in the world with chronically cranky motorists, 60 percent congestion and at 10.70 mph average speed.
This ranking released by Forbes following a study conducted by German auto parts retailer, kfzteile24, is based on an analysis of local congestion levels, the average cost of parking and fuel, average roadway speeds, air pollution levels, number of traffic injuries, and road quality.
Also considered is the frequency and perception of road rage of drivers.
Lagos is the only African country among the top ten least desirable cities to drive in.
According to the study the least desirable cities for drivers above Lagos are Kolkata, India at 69% congestion, 11.20 mph average speed and Karachi, Pakistan with 59% congestion, 11.20 mph average speed.
Other challenging cities to drive in are Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Mumbai and Bangalore in India; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Bogota, Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico,
and Istanbul in Turkey.
On the other hand, Dusseldorf in Germany tops the list of cities that are the delight of drivers.
Other desirable cities for driving are, Dubai, UAE; Zurich, Switzerland; Tokyo, Japan; Basel, Switzerland; Singapore, Singapore; Dortmund, Germany; Vienna, Austria; Munich, Germany; Calgary, Canada.
