Lagos PDP now enjoys relative peace ― Otunba Segun Aeroland

Chieftain of the Lagos State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Segun Adewale aka Aeroland, has faulted the reconciliation meeting held between party leadership led by Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and Chief Olabode George’s group, saying there was no need for such as relative peace had since returned to PDP since Engr. Deji Doherty was elected as its chairman.
Adewale said this in reaction to a meeting held by some party leaders at Chief George’s Ikoyi office which had Oyo State governor, Engr. Makinde, former Delta State governor and Chief James Ibori, among others in attendance.
The PDP chieftain, while faulting the meeting, noted that party members must understand that, Chief George as an elder in the party, can host any dignitary, but pointed out that the party held at the Ikoyi office of the former deputy national chairman of PDP was not on behalf of the party.
According to him, this was so because none of the leaders at the national level communicated to the state chapter of PDP on any reconciliation committee or meeting, declaring that Chief George cannot call for any reconciliation meeting as he alleged that he (George) was the genesis of the crisis currently rocking the state chapter of the party.
“The only reconciliation that is needed has been done by Chief Ben Obi, Senator Biodun Olujimi and Engr Muktar committee, who came to the state before the election in 2019,” he said.
Adewale decried the action of Chief George, describing it as “an affront on the power of the National Leadership of the PDP is working very hard to bring peace and stability to Lagos PDP, so that it can have a good outing in 2023.”
“For those of us who understand Lagos politics to a large extent, the state cannot be won by just making noise on the media, but rigorous activities at the grassroots, which we have done before and will still do better again,” Adewale said.
Speaking further, the PDP chieftain, Adewale cautioned the former governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi (BOG), who just rejoined the party, “to take it easy, and not allow himself, out of desperation for gubernatorial ticket, to be used by those who will be willing to negotiate with the party in 2023.”
“When new members or old member joins a party, the constitution is clear on what should be done, he should not tag along with those who are interested in just creating faction in the party. He ought to know that, as a new member, all leaders must be accorded due respect,” he added.
