Factions in the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reunited, vowing to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2027.
It was gathered that the PDP made this vow at a reconciliation meeting held at the weekend at the Victoria Island residence of first Chairman of the party, Alhaji Muritala Ashorobi, which had in attendance former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Olabode George; former minister, Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu; Chief (Mrs) Aduke Maina, among others.
The party urged members across the 20 Local Governments in the state to mobilise Lagosians to achieve that goal, even as it warned some of its members “working for APC underground to stop or leave PDP immediately.”
Other key party chieftains in attendance were the state Chairman, Hon. Philip Aivoji; Captain Tunji Shelle (rtd); Alhaji Ramoni Owokoniran; Dr. Niran Adeniji; members of the Reconciliation Committee and State Exco.
The main opposition party, in the 7-point communique issued at the end of the parley, also resolved that status quo in the state chapter remains, warning that
anti-party activities would no longer be tolerated.
PDP, while sadly noting that the APC government had really disappointed Nigerians, called on them to ensure that the ruling party was voted out in 2027.
