Lagos NIPR rolls out 2017 PR week agenda

As part of activities marking this year’s Public Relations Week, the

Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos Chapter,  has announced plans to stage a walk session within the Lagos metropolis, as a way of creating awareness for people living with autism.

Disclosing these plans to the media in Lagos, the Chairman of the event Committee, Mr. Jide Benson, explained that the decision of the Chapter to include the programme in this year’s PR Week’s agenda was informed by the need to correct some erroneous notions the society has about  people living with the disorder.

He added that besides the walk session, which would be staged within the Mobolaji Bank Anthony axis of the metropolis, the Chapter would also be having its lecture series tagged Thought Leadership Lecture, expected to attract individuals from corporate organisations and the academia.

According to him, one of the  highlights of this year’s event remains the support the event would be getting from one of the nation’s frontline PR agencies, the TPT International, a development he argued would further go a long way in bolster stakeholders’  confidence in the activities of the chapter.

While commending TPT for its decision to pitch its tent behind the Chapter, the Chairman of the Chapter, Mr. Segun McMedal noted that the Chapter would be drawing from the agency’s wealth of experience in ensuring the success of this year’s edition of the programme.

Explaining the rationale behind the agency’s decision to pitch itstent with the Chapter, the chairman of the agency, Mr. Tokunbo Modupe noted that since Lagos remains the hub of PR practice in the country,

it had become imperative for critical stakeholders to support the Chapter in its desire to provide that leadership direction among other chapters in the country.
