Lagos/Ibadan Expressway: FRSC commends RCCG for creating thoroughfare to ease gridlock

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC),Ogun State Command, has commended the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), for creating thoroughfare through the Campground, to ease traffic gridlock, on Wednesday.

According to the State Sector Commander, Clement Oladele, motorists were trapped in gridlock as a result of a tanker conveying petroleum product that crashed at Mowe.

The FRSC boss said the opening of the thoroughfare by the Church between Lotto and RCCG Youth gate for motorists drastically reduced the gridlock.

The Sector Commander also commended the Federal Government for making the Reynolds Construction Company (RCC), the Company rehabilitating the Sagamu – Ijebu Ode – Ore Expressway for putting on hold the repair works on the corridor till after the yuletide.

He also commended the FG for the removal of the remaining diversions around KARA (River Ogun bridge) along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway where Julius Berger Nigeria Plc (JBN) is rehabilitating portions of the road, which has made the entire diversion on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway more motorable.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed on Wednesday afternoon by an hit and run driver at Ijagun junction, along Ijebu-Ode/Ore Expressway.

The victims were said to be riding on a wine coloured BAJAJ Boxer motorcycle when the unfortunate incident occurred. They died on the spot.

According to the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Clement Oladele, the motorcycle riders were hit by the unidentified vehicle from behind while the impact made the rider to lose control and eventually crashed.

The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode.
