Lagos State Government is poised to take full regulatory control of electricity in the state by December, according to Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr Biodun Ogunleye.
This development comes as the state prepares to host the inaugural Lagos Energy Summit 2025, themed “Journey to Energy for All”.
Ogunleye revealed that the state government is committed to resolving power supply issues, acknowledging the challenges faced by residents.
To achieve this, the government will invest in comprehensive solutions, including consensus-building initiatives to increase electricity penetration.
The Lagos Energy Summit 2025 aims to bring together stakeholders in the energy sector for robust discussions and knowledge sharing.
The event will focus on the Lagos State Electricity Law 2024, Energy Policies, and the Lagos State Energy Regulatory Commission and Market.
Notable speakers, including former Minister of Power, Berth Nnaji, will attend the summit, which is expected to draw around 5,000 participants and 150 facilitators.
The summit’s objectives include creating a community of interest around energy solutions, promoting sustainable energy solutions, and fostering sustainable growth and innovation in the state’s renewable energy market.
