Lagos endorses Yoruba Films and Music Fair

The first and one of the unique socio-cultural festivals that fuse two separate sectors in the entertainment industry together, to celebrate, entertain and showcase the best of talents and artistry of stakeholders, Yoruba Films and Music Fair (YFMF) has been endorsed by Lagos State.

The organiser of YFMF, Tayo Ogunlade disclosed to Travelpulse&MICE in a chat that the concept of the event was in line with the innovative ideology of Lagos State and when they approached the state government, they were prompt at endorsing it.

“The Lagos State government knows what they actually want when you talk of innovation and entertainment and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with Mr Steve Ayorinde at the helm of affairs will go extra miles to see that the best events are supported to sustain mega vibe the centre of excellence is known for.

“We see endorsement as not only a privilege to be part of Lagos state calendar of event, but also a commitment that will spur us to do more in the area of innovation to boost the content of the event.”

According to the letter of endorsement from Lagos State, the support granted the YFMF is a way to encourage private sector in promoting tourism in the state.

The letter reads “In view of the state vision to make Lagos the most preferred tourism destination in Africa, as well as provide the enabling environment to encourage private sector investment in tourism promotion. It is gratifying to note that the state government has endorsed your programme.

The letter added that “we also wish to state equivocally that this endorsement indicates that the state through the ministry of culture and Tourism must be carried along on the activities involved with the event programme.”

In its second edition, schedule to add colours to the long list of Lagos events calendar from October 10 to 12, 2018, the convener said the 2018 event is loaded and it is going to be a memorable outing.

According to Ogunlade “this year’s edition of the Yoruba Films and Music Fair was deliberately postponed from September 26 to 28, 2018 to October 10 to 12 2018, in order to accommodate some innovative development at making this year’s outing colourful.

We are assuring everyone billed to participate in the YFMF of a blast this year as more interesting features will be part of the whole show from day one to the end.

Last year’s outing was not only a gathering of entertainers but also turned the venue (), to a sort of cultural rendezvous for all and sundry thereby increasing economic activities in the area.

He explained that event was not only the host state affair but also drew participant from other states including cultural troupe from all ministry of culture and tourism from all South-West states viz-a-viz exhibition of different cultural artifacts, arts and crafts.

“Also we had endless list of royal fathers, traditional chief, ace and upcoming actors, actresses and musicians.”

This year event will be a cultural exhibition between the Yoruba films and music industry and the Bollywood stars from zeeworld in India. Already we have on our list artist Abi and Prigia from the popular Indian soap, Married Again, to grace the occasion.
