In a bid to restore order and sanity in the state, the Lagos State Government has launched a coordinated surveillance operation to tackle the menace of miscreants and destitutes in the Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and Lekki-Ajah areas.
According to Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, the operation was carried out on Saturday and resulted in the arrest of 21 individuals, including three ex-convicts, one internet stalker, and 17 suspected miscreants.
The suspects were found to be engaging in various nefarious activities, including the illegal sale of petroleum products along the roads.

Substances suspected to be Indian hemp and Jerry Cans/gallons of fuel were also recovered during the operation.
The Commissioner announced that the suspects will be arraigned in court accordingly, signaling the state’s determination to curb the activities of miscreants and destitutes in the area.”
