Lagos commissioner, Bamigbetan in road accident

LAGOS State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Kehinde Bamigbetan, was at the weekend involved in a road accident, sustaining a cut on his face.

Bamigbetan, a journalist turned politician, confirmed this in a Facebook post on Sunday, with pictures of the incident showing his vehicle rammed into another as he was returning from the farm.

He was chauffeur-driven.

The commissioner, however, was full of gratitude to God for sparing his life and that of his driver, who he said dosed off while he (Bamigbetan) too was taking a nap at a rear seat at the time of the incident.

“His mercy endures forever. The driver drove into an armoured carrier on our way from the farm. I was taking a nap in the rear seat. The impact flung me at the windscreen. He dozed off on speed. But our Creator was in charge. He saved us from the calamity. To God be the glory,” he wrote in the post.

Efforts to reach him on proved abortive as his phone was switched off.

Attempts made to speak with few others in connection with the incident also did not yield much as they claimed they read about the incident through the post made by the commissioner himself.

Bamigbetan was appointed information commissioner in January 2018.

He took over from Mr Steve Ayotunde who was moved to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
