Lagos ADP sets agenda for Sanwo-Olu

Published by

LAGOS State chapter of Action Democratic Party (ADP) has called on newly sworn-in governor of the state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to serve the people of Lagos with the fear of God and not that of man, saying he should show commitment in advancing the state in job creation, empowerment of youth with entrepreneurship skills and other areas that would uplift Lagos from its current situation.

This was just as the party wished the outgone Governor Akinwunmi Ambode well in his future endeavours, thanking him for his service to Lagosians.

ADP said this on Wednesday in a statement made available to journalists by the chairman, Nasir Adewale Bolaji, saying the party’s expectations include but not limited to the fact that Sanwoolu must prove to all Lagosians that he was a man of his own and not a puppet of any godfather as widely speculated.

“First of all, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu must prove to all Lagosians that he is a man of his own and not a puppet of any godfather as widely speculated,” he said, declaring that implementation of the newly signed minimum wage of N30,000 should be his priority.

According to him, Lagos State is capable of implementing the new national minimum wage, saying that workers must be adequately taken care of if maximum productivity was expected from them.

“Both human and infrastructural developments should be key areas the governor must focus on if indeed he would want Lagosians to take him serious.

“We are expecting that Sanwo-Olu will continue with legacy projects of the past governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, because, since it’s the same APC that is still in power, governance should be a continuous thing, except that they want to tell Lagosians they are different,” ADP said.

The party, however, said it was building a formidable opposition party that would henceforth be monitoring Sanwo-Olu’s activities, adding: “Where we need to inform Lagosians we would do so, so well and loud.”
