The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has led a team of senior management officers on a condolence visit to the Army Headquarters on Tuesday in Abuja, where he signed the condolence register in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.

Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Babawale Afolabi in a statement said the visit was a symbol of honour and respect for the departed National Hero; the Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja who until his demise was a gallant, dedicated and results-oriented Military Legend.

In his condolence message, the CG described the late COAS as an exemplary, highly motivated, and very gallant General who served the nation with utmost dedication and relentless determination to salvage the country from the scourge of Insurgency.

Audi added that the contributions made by the Army Chief have visibly transformed the Nigerian Army into an enviable regimental organization setting the pace for others.

He said the entire management and officers and men of the Corps condole with the Nigerian Army at this time of grief and prayed that the Almighty God would strengthen the families of the departed and give the NA the fortitude to bear such an irreparable loss.

“On behalf of the entire Senior Management Staff, Officers and men of the NSCDC we condole with the Nigerian Army, In this time of grief our hearts are with you and we pray for grace, strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

“We know that death is in evitable for all humanity, but our prayers is that the families and the nation left behind would prosper and that the soul of the departed will continue to rest in the bosom of our father in heaven,” he said.
