Remains of a young lady were reportedly found at a hotel located in Nyinma area of Makurdi, the capital city of Benue State at the weekend.
It was gathered that a man had taken the lady to lodge in the hotel around Nyinma on Friday only to discover her lifeless body the following day.
According to a resident of Nyinma who simply identified himself as Sunny, “The incident happened on Saturday, is like the couple lodged in the hotel on Friday but unfortunately, we heard that the body of the lady was found with some parts removed the following day.
Confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, a Superintendent of Police, said that three persons had been arrested in connection with the death of the lady.
Anene however, dispelled the rumour that the private parts of the lady were removed, saying no part of the deceased body was missing at the time her remains were picked from the hotel room.
“There is a death report of a lady in a hotel but details will come from the doctors, though we didn’t see marks of violence on the body. So, the autopsy will reveal the cause of the death.
“The person that died was dressed but we didn’t see marks on her body meaning there are no injuries.
“Three suspects were arrested in connection with this case so they will give us details. We can’t say it is a case of murder because we didn’t see marks of violence,” Anene said.
