Ladan Salihu urges Bauchi government house staffs to comply with directives

All categories of Staff serving at the Government House, Bauchi have been tasked with the need to ensure total compliance with all the government’s directives as well as ensure that they keep to the oath of secrecy as it affects official documents.

Newly sworn-in Chief of Staff, Government House, Dr Ladan Salihu gave the advice at the opening of a 2-day intensive security awareness for the staff of the Government House held inside the Banquet Hall on Wednesday.

Ladan Salihu said that henceforth, his office will take proactive measures to block leakages in the movement of all government’s files and documents as well as ensure compliance by staff on any directives given for effective performance.

The CoS said that ” This lecture is important and it will equip you the participants on security measures by safeguarding all properties in the government in addition to educating you to ensure total compliance with all government’s directive.”

He added, ” I am happy that all the speakers are experienced security personnel who can give you the required security knowledge to ensure effective service delivery.”

The Chief of Staff enjoined the participants to make good use of the knowledge acquired during the series of lectures that will be delivered so as to enable them to perform as expected.

While Speaking on Physical Security, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Governor Bala Mohammed, Bilyaminu Bako said that the main purpose of physical security includes among others, to deter, deny, detect and delay.

Bilyaminu Bako further said that for the effective operation of personnel, there is the need for guard personnel at the entrance control point to be quick in perception, tact, and good judgment.

The CSO also said that the ongoing security reforms in the Government House is to provide a conducive environment for staff to operate without any hitches.

The Chief Security Officer who said that the aim of every security planning and operation is to ensure that classified information and materials are successfully protected from loss or disclosure.

On Document and Information Security, the Chief Detail (CD) to the Governor, B.F Mathias pointed out that, leakages of government information is likely to cause a threat to security.

The two days briefing which was at the instance of the CoS is aimed at promoting efficiency in governance and prompt service delivery in order to shift from the ‘business as usual’ syndrome in service delivery.
