Ahmed who was driven into the ministry at exactly 9.27 am, was immediately confronted with the solidarity song: “solidarity forever” by leaders of the labour union.
In a brief chat with them, Ahmed said “we will work together” and then escorted inside by the Permanent Secretary and other directors.
They also informed her of their desire to cooperate with her while in the ministry.
During the meeting with staff shortly after, Ahmed reminded them that the country was presently undergoing a period of financial challenges.

While commending the staff for being core professionals, the minister said: “we know that you have been doing well but we will push ourselves to do more.”
Earlier, Permanent Secretary, Dr Mahmoud Isa Dutse had told the minister that “we have been operating as a team.
“We are also ready to give the support to whoever comes as minister.
“We will make sure that you succeed in the task that the President has assigned to you.”
