Labour Party chair blames APC for hardship in Nigeria

The current hardship facing Nigerians has been blamed on the failure of the ruling APC to give the expected governance to the people of the country

The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barr. Julius Abure asserted in Owerri weekend during the Imo LP stakeholders meeting.

He said that the failure of the APC to use the power they captured well has resulted in the unbearable increasing cost of foodstuff and other items which has continued to strangle Nigerians.

He pointed out that APC has failed woefully to utilize the power of governance to better Nigerians.

He said: “What matters most is not how to wing election or capture power but what to do with the power after all”.

Abure described LP as a victim of fraudulent elections in Nigeria arising from the last general election, stressing the need for the party to pursue all forms of electoral reforms in Nigeria.

The National chairman declared that the Labour Party will win the governorship election in Edo State, adding that already party members and stakeholders are working hard to subvert any plans to stop the victory of the party in the state.

While commending the Imo State Chairman of LP, the State Executive Council (SEC) and State Working Committee (SEC) for their doggedness, Abure urged them to continue to keep faith and stay together with the party to enable them to tackle their numerous challenges

The national chairman assured the state chapter of the conduct of state congress while charging both the elected members of the party and the stakeholders to have a round table discussion on what and how to go about it.

In his remarks, the LP Governorship candidate in the last governorship election in the state Sen. Athan Achonu described Labour Party as the only solution to Igbo nation as well as the only party that presented human beings in the nation’s election.

He revealed the party’s decision to commence mass membership registration across all political wards in the state, stating that a sum of N27m has been provided for the exercise

Achonu used the meeting to express words of appreciation to members and stakeholders of the party for their support to the party.

Welcoming the stakeholders to the meeting, the state party chairman Barr Calistus Ihejiagwa said that the purpose of the meeting is to review the activities of the party with the view of repositioning it ahead of subsequent elections in the state.

He said that as a mass and grassroots-oriented political party with the best ideology, the party will soon take over power both in the state Imo and at the national level.

The chairman recalled that so far Imo State have one Senator at the National Assembly, Two Federal House of Representatives and One member in the Imo State House of Assembly.

He said: ” LP warned elections in the state but APC stole their mandate in connivance with the INEC and security agencies”.

Barr. Ihejiagwa while expressing optimism at the outcome of the ongoing Election Tribunal, said that the fraud witnessed during the last election must not be allowed to stand.
