ALL Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state has said that the state has not been marginalised under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Speaking with journalists at the weekend ahead of President’s visit to Ilorin, chairman, a central working committee of President Buhari’s visit to Kwara state, Hon Moshood Mustapha said that, “four years ago, we cried of marginalisation but that has become a thing of the past.”

The Kwara APC said that the state has benefitted from President Muhammadu Buhari led government in the last three and half years, adding that no fewer than 10,350 Kwarans have benefitted from the Federal Government N-power scheme.

“From fixing the long-abandoned Jebba-Mokwa road, Kaiama-Chikanda Road, Ilorin-Omu-Aran Road, Oro Township Road, Ajase-Offa-Erin-Ile Road to initiating several anti-poverty measures like TraderMoni, N-Power project, Anchor Borrowers’ programme.

This is just as a non-governmental organisation, Kwara Development Foundation (KWADEF), urged voters in the state to take advantage of the 2019 general elections to exercise their constitutional right to elect leaders of their choice through the ballot box.

The foundation, which embarked on voters’ sensitisation programme in Ilorin at the weekend, enjoined prospective voters to eschew violence and not to allow themselves to be used negatively by politicians during the poll.

President of the foundation, Dr Kolawole Afolabi, explained that the group remains a non-partisan group with non-partisan interest.

“As the nation moves to perform the next election ritual, we have decided to step forward and work towards enacting a focused development paradigm for mobilising the collective strength of the people of Kwara state to achieve sustainable socio-economic growth”, he said.

He added that the group is seeking a non-partisan roadmap to restore deliberate thinking, planning and acting together to restore the glory of Kwara state.

He maintained that the exercise was the beginning of a series of intervention programmes that will spread over a long period of time.
