Kwara govt, attend to these roads

Published by

THE efforts made by the Kwara State government to reconstruct the Geri-Alimi roundabout in Ilorin, Kwara State, are highly commendable. Indeed, the ongoing projects indicate tremendous changes in the State of Harmony.

Motorable roads are certainly one of the things that promote economic growth and social activities.

In this regard, attention needs to be shifted to other bad roads in the state capital, as a matter of urgency. One example is the road that leads to Kawu Street, behind the Michael Imoudu Institute in Olunlade area. The condition of the road has gone from bad to worse.

On  Saturday, April 15, vehicular movement was restricted for many hours. Vehicles coming towards the Michael Imoudu junction were unable to move, while people returning from work were unable to get home in time.

Potholes  are a major problem in Ilorin. Erosion has equally reshaped and reconstructed the road from its original plan.

Indeed, this requires urgent attention. The residents of Ita-Aisa and other places  are appealing to the state government and clamouring for the reconstruction of the road.

Again, the Ita-Elepa road is another thorny issue in the state capital.

During the rainy season, it is not motorable. This is also the case during the dry season. The road remains a deathtrap for the inhabitants of the area.

Residents spend more hours  than expected before getting to the Asa-Dam main road.

Of course, the bad condition of this road is beyond what could be written in a little space.

Above all, we implore the Kwara State government to spread its helping hands to the places mentioned.

We the good citizens of the State Of Harmony will continue to throw our weight behind the government at all times.
