Kwara gov commiserates with Makinde on Ibadan explosion

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state, who is also the chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) has commisserated with his Oyo state counterpart, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the people over the tragedy of the explosion that rocked parts of Ibadan on Tuesday night.

In a statement by the Kwara state governor on Wednesday, he
commended Governor Makinde and his team for the swift responses since the incident occurred, while he sympathized with the people and government of Oyo state at this trying time.

“The incident again underlines the need for operators to adopt global best practices in mining operations and to prioritise safety at all times.

“The calls for objective probe are therefore in order to unravel what truly happened to forestall a repeat of such traumatic incident.

“We stand by the Government and people of Oyo State as they recover from the shock of this sad incident, and pray to Almighty God to forgive the dead and wish speedy recoveries for those injured in the explosion”.
