Kwara gov announces Sen Oloriegbe as Ameerul-Hajj for 2024

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state has appointed the immediate past senator in the Kwara Central senatorial district, Ibrahim Yahya Oloriegbe, as the leader of the state’s contingent (Ameerul-Hajj) to the 2024 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, according to a statement on Tuesday.

In the statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye said that Kwara state has at least 3,102 pilgrims for this year’s Hajj—one of the highest in the country.

The statement also said the choice of the senator is borne out of his experience and networks as a Muslim community leader.

“The government believes that the senator will deploy his knowledge and understanding of the terrain to ensure improved coordination and efficiency for the exercise, according to the statement”.
