Kwara Fire service retrieves corpse from well

Men of the Kwara State Fire Service on Sunday said it retrieved the corpse of a middle-aged woman, Fatimoh Ranti, from a well in Ilorin, the state capital.

The spokesperson of the service, Hassan Adekunle said that it received a distress call from the scene of the incident around 9:30 am on Sunday.

The service did not state how the woman got into the well.

“Just early this morning October 3, 2021, the Kwara State Fire Service was quickly summoned for one rescue operation at 185, Asunara Ile Kola Compound, off Balogun Fulani Road Ilorin.

“Indeed, the victim woman was recovered dead from the domestic well by the firemen”.

Alhaji Asunara, the head of the compound who the victim was handed over to, told the fireteam that the incident happened on Saturday night, but only to be detected this morning”.

Mr. Adekunle urged “everyone to be more vigilant in his neighborhoods in order to prevent similar occurrences”.
