Kwankwaso
FORMER governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso has petitioned President Muhamnadu Buhari, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Police Service Commission (PSC) over alleged invasion and sealing off of his constituency office in Kano, on Monday.
Kwankwaso, in the petition written by his political movement, Kwankwasiya Amana and dated August 24, 2016, alleged that the state police command carried out the action at the directive of the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Last Saturday, the state police command prevented the Kwankwaso group from holding its mass weeding programme for 100 couples, to avoid clash between members of the group and that of the state governor, who were billed to attend another function at the Government House, few meters away from Kwankwo’s office.
The police, on Monday, invaded the office and sealed it off for several hours, on alleged secret conduct of the mass wedding by the group.
However, in the petition signed by Aliyu Sani Madaki and Yusuf Bello Suleiman and submitted at the office of the Police Service Commission, in Abuja, Kwankwaso called on President Buhari, the commission and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim K. Idris, to call the state police commissioner to order, in the interest of peace in the state.
Specifically, the petitioner urged the chairman of the police service commission, Mr Mike Okiro, to carry out a thorough investigation of the invasion and recommend appropriate sanction to those behind it.
