Known for his eclectic music performances and deep lyrical deliveries, KWAM 1 stormed the Peacock hall of the Lagos Island, band members and all, orchestrating the best of fuji music.
K1 delivered most of his best known songs to members of the Island Club, who were mostly clad in an all-white agbada, and ready for a party.
Speaking to Saturday Tribune, about how he had managed to stay relevant in the music scene, KWAM 1, who said he isn’t shifting focus to Hip-hop music, relaxing the voice and taking period rest helped him cope.
Speaking he said, “I try as much as possible to ensure I rest my voice before and after performance. I do not overload it with too much talks or screaming or even too much performance. This has worked for me since 40 years I have been performing. I also engage in voice training as well.
“I also noticed that when you over work yourself , your voice is the worst victim. So, I try to go on vacation in January and during the Ramadan”.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman, Island Club, Prince Adelana Adesina, said the dance party was organised annually to celebrate the country’s attainment of freedom, stating that music and dance were also part of the uniting elements of the country.
The event had elite members of the club in attendance as well as the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
