Some of the participants at the walk against gender violence in Kwara recently.

Foremost music producer Krizbeatz and non governmental organisation, Sa’adat Bibire Foundation (SAAB) penultimate weekend staged a march against gender based violence in Kwara State.

SAAB, at the rally, that had more than 500 people from all walks of life, revealed that the girl-child had continued to suffer a lot in the society as many older men and women tended to abuse the right of the girl-child with cases of their inhuman treatment rising daily.

According to the founder, Sa’adat Bibire, many people have died, especially the young ones because they failed to speak out against the trouble they went through in order to create awareness for others.”

We believe that it is the responsibility of  all Kwarans and Nigerians at large to participate in the prevention of gender-based violence as many people have died in silence. There are things you can do to help children who are in danger. This is why we are staging this walk”, she said.

The walk which was tagged Unite Against Gender Based Violence saw men and old women of all ages come together to voice their discomfort against the problem even as some of them disclosed that they are now fully aware of the danger it portends.
