Korean Air wins 2025 airline of the year award

AirlineRating.com, noted for delivering expert ratings for more than 358 airlines around the world has announced the highly anticipated World’s Best Airline Awards for 2025.

While the world’s safest airlines focus on safety, the world’s best airlines awards are centred on passenger comfort, feedback, and product consistency across an airline’s route network.

According to the platform, these awards are not based on a popularity contest; rather, each airline is thoroughly evaluated based on what it offers passengers throughout its fleet and network.

According to the CEO OF AirlineRating.com, Sharon Petersen, a new twist is being introduced to this year award where in addition to recognizing the best full-service and low-cost airlines, a new category: Best Hybrid Airlines is being introduced.  In her remarks, Sharon Petersen commented: “These airlines deserve recognition for their excellence in hybrid operations and their innovative offerings. We are proud to be the first aviation media outlet to acknowledge this shift and introduce a dedicated category that celebrates hybrid airlines and their significant positive impact on the travel industry.

The airline of the year award went to Korean Air for its exceptional focus on passenger comfort, particularly in Economy Class, where it maintained industry-leading seat pitches of 33–34 inches on wide-body aircraft.
