KOGI State students under the aegis of National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) on Wednesday said no fewer than 8,250 students of the state origin in higher institutions would benefit from the bursary being paid by the state government.

The national president of the association, Moses Audu, who made the disclosure in Lokoja, the state capital, also lauded the Yahaya Bello led administration over the 300 percent increment in the bursary.

He said at least 8,318 students registered for the bursary out of which only 68 had issues with their registration.

According to him, the beneficiaries of the programme had already started collecting the bursary awards as pledged by the leadership of the association.

Audu expressed delight over the welfare programmes of the state government for students of the state, noting that they had never had it so good.

The president added that the portal for the bursary would be reopened next week to enable fresh registration to commence for the next set of payment.
