Kogi speaker congratulates Buhari, APC

Published by

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has felicitated with and congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC family over the victory of the party at the Presidential Election Petition  Tribunal.

The Speaker in a press statement issued on Thursday said the victory is well deserved considering the huge support and votes President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC enjoyed from the masses before, during and after the presidential election in February.

According to him, it is the common man on the streets that won, stressing that the Judiciary has once again proven to be above board and the hope of the masses.

He commended the Judiciary for living up to expectations by not buying into the falsehood of the PDP who have lost relevance in governing the affairs of the country since 2015 but want to go through the back door to hijack power.

He urged the opposition to accept the verdict in good faith and support President Muhammadu Buhari to reposition the country for a better future.

The Speaker also used the opportunity to call on the electorate in the state to vote APC/Governor Yahaya Bello overwhelmingly come November 16 Governorship Election, stressing that Kogi State cannot afford to return to opposition again.
