Kogi Speaker congratulates Adeyemi, Lawal, says victory well deserved

THE Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole has congratulated Senator Smart Adeyemi and Hon Idris Lawal on their overwhelming victory at the just concluded Senatorial rerun Election in Kogi West and Ajaokuta Federal Constituency respectively.

The Speaker said the victory is well deserved and long-expected considering the giant efforts of the APC’s new direction to reposition the state for the posterity of all.

He said the victory has afforded the people of Kogi West Senatorial District the opportunity to change the narrative of a bad representation to a robust and vibrant representation that will create opportunities for rapid development in the area.

He also congratulated the APC family in the district and Kogi State under the leadership of Hon Abdullahi Bello aka Dollar for his role in fostering unity and cohesion in the party which resulted in the overwhelming victory.

He said the victory has further shown that the state is truly an APC state looking at the records from the last general elections, urging the opposition to embrace peace and work with the current administration to move the state forward.

The Speaker also commended the people of Kogi State and Kogi West Senatorial District in particular for believing in the leadership of His Excellency by coming out en-masse and voting peacefully to re-elect him despite the campaigns of calumny from the opposition.

He called on all other contestants to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and work together with the governor for a better and greater Kogi State.
