Kogi SDP dissolves working committee

The Kogi State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) had dissolved the state party working committee and appointed a caretaker committee.

In a letter dated 23rd July 2024, and addressed to the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Gabam (Makaman Tilde) and the National Secretary, Dr. Olu Agunloye state as follows, “This is to officially inform your office that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party has received and considered reports on the activities and developments of the Kogi State Chapter and has, accordingly, dissolved the Kogi State Working Committee in line with the 2022 Constitution of the Party as amended.

“Consequently, the National Working Committee has therefore approved the constitution of a Caretaker Committee for the State Chapter. The tenure of the caretaker committee shall be 90 days or as the NWC may determine and this appointment shall take immediate effect.

“The INEC Chairman is hereby formally informed that the Kogi State Working Committee has been dissolved and replaced with a Caretaker Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Sam Ranti Abenemi as per the provisions of the SDP Constitution.

The composition of the Committee is as follow, Chief San Ranti Abenemi running mate to Muritala Ajaka the Governorship candidate of the party in last year election as chairman and Alhaji. Sheik Ibrahim Jibril is the Secretary.

Others are Alhaji. Jimoh Muhammed, Member, Alhaji. Isah Abudikarim Member. Mrs. Rabi Emaiku Member, Mr. Fehinti Dada Member, and Alhaji. Abubakar Kamar also Member.

The statement noted that NWC shall soon conduct a fresh Congress in Kogi State to elect a new State Working Committee.
